Hectolux to microlux converter

Convert hectolux (hlx) to microlux (µlx). Calculate any value, follow the unit-factor steps and check a conversion table.

Updated · How we check
TRY YOUR OWN NUMBER Reverse conversion

Use a decimal point, such as 2.5. Enter a value in hlx; the result is in µlx.

Microlux≈ 100,000,000µlx

Formula

µlx ≈ hlx × 100,000,000

Worked example

Convert 1 hlx to µlx:

1 hlx ≈ 100,000,000 µlx

Multiply your hlx value by the factor above. The calculator uses the full conversion factor before rounding the displayed answer.

What hectolux measure

Hectolux (hlx) represent illuminance. One unit equals 10^2 lx. One lux equals one lumen per square meter of incident illuminance.

Reading the result in microlux

Microlux (µlx) represent illuminance. One unit equals 10^-6 lx. One lux equals one lumen per square meter of incident illuminance.

Where this conversion helps

Convert an illuminance reading while retaining its measurement conditions. Illuminance varies with position, angle and distance. Scaling lux does not predict the light at another location.

How the scale changes

The input unit has a factor of 1e2 lx; the output unit has a factor of 1e-6 lx. Multiply the entered number by the input factor, then divide by the output factor. The physical quantity stays the same while its numerical representation changes.

Reading very small or large results

Scientific notation keeps very small and large values readable: 2.5e-6 means 0.0000025. The converter calculates with 50 significant digits internally and displays up to 10. Exact unit definitions do not remove uncertainty from the original measurement.
