Understanding kilowatts
One kilowatt equals 1,000 watts. A kW rating is power, not a billable energy amount. To estimate kWh, also supply the operating time and average load.
Understanding btu per hour
This tool uses International Table British thermal units per hour. The IT Btu is 1,055.05585262 joules. A thermal output rating is not automatically the appliance's electrical input.
Precision and rounding
The calculator keeps decimal precision during the conversion. Displayed values use up to 10 significant digits; an approximation sign marks the reference results. Keep extra digits until your final measurement or purchase decision.
