Understanding seconds
The second is the SI base unit of time. A duration in seconds can be converted to minutes and hours without knowing a starting date or time zone.
Understanding minutes
A minute of duration contains 60 seconds. Enter a decimal amount: 1.5 minutes means 90 seconds. This is not the arcminute used for angles.
Precision and rounding
The calculator keeps decimal precision during the conversion. Displayed values use up to 10 significant digits; an approximation sign marks the reference results. Keep extra digits until your final measurement or purchase decision.
