What yottagrays measure
Yottagrays (YGy) represent absorbed dose units. One unit equals 10^24 Gy. One gray is one joule of energy imparted per kilogram of matter.
Reading the result in grays
Grays (Gy) represent absorbed dose units. One unit equals 10^0 Gy. One gray is one joule of energy imparted per kilogram of matter.
Where this conversion helps
Express an already established absorbed dose in another unit scale. This is unit arithmetic only. Grays cannot be converted to sieverts without radiation and tissue weighting information.
How the scale changes
The input unit has a factor of 1e24 Gy; the output unit has a factor of 1e0 Gy. Multiply the entered number by the input factor, then divide by the output factor. The physical quantity stays the same while its numerical representation changes.
Reading very small or large results
Scientific notation keeps very small and large values readable: 2.5e-6 means 0.0000025. The converter calculates with 50 significant digits internally and displays up to 10. Exact unit definitions do not remove uncertainty from the original measurement.
